Chihuly at Kew Gardens

A wonderful exhibition of glass art.

Reflections on nature promises the perfect marriage of art, science, and nature, as the artist’s installations are presented amid the spectacular landscapes of one of London’s few UNESCO world heritage sites. The majority of artwork featured in the exhibition has never been seen before in the UK, including a specially designed sculpture for Kew’s iconic Temperate House. Highlights include Chihuly’s celestial Sapphire Star, along with selections from the artist’s body of work including Drawings, Venetians, Seaforms, Baskets, and Rotolo, among others.

Reflections on nature marks the artist’s much anticipated return to the Royal Botanical Gardens since his 2005 exhibition Gardens of Glass.

A love of Fungi!

There are so many types of mushrooms -- at least 14,000 -- though only about half are OK to eat. But almost all the mushrooms we eat in the U.S. are the white button variety. Why not branch out? Other common types include cremini, portabella, maitake (also called hen of the woods), shiitake, enoki, and oyster. Each has its own unique shape, flavor, and texture.
